Throughout the years we’ve been doing rope, Cait and Gigi have been told many things that made them feel “less than.” We’ve been brushed off, scoffed at, not taken seriously, and told that we can’t or shouldn’t do rope the way we want to because of our size, gender, or both. In this suspension performance, we will prove the naysayers wrong and show the world that anyone can do beautiful, amazing rope.
A PDF of the class notes for "Rope 110: The Basics." The notes cover topics including consent & negotiation, safety, general information about rope itself, and fundamental knots (single column & double column ties).
In this video, we cover the boola-boola, the fast bowline, and the Somerville bowline. We also discuss how the direction in which you start the single column affects the way in which the running ends will end up.
In this video, ropespaced goes over how to make munter hitches, as well as the difference between open and closed munter hitches.
A PDF of the handout that accompanies ropespaced's "Don't Be Nervous" class (previously called "Striking a Nerve"). A video of the class is available from Karada House's video archive.
The Ostara TK was developed by Koalafied_ for 2 reasons: to solve problems they were having with TKs and to provide a solid front attachment point for suspension, which is absent in many TKs. They came up with the Ostara TK, which fulfilled both of their criteria while remaining aesthetically pleasing. They first taught the TK at NH's KinkyCon in 2019. This video is for those who took the class and need a refresher or for those new to the tie. Suspension attachments are covered in another video.
In this video, Koalafied_ explains the different attachment points and upline options for suspensions with their Ostara TK.
B.K.R.G. goes virtual with a class about self-tying. Gigi (Koalafied_) teaches their original self-tied chest harness: the Akasha harness, as well as a self-tied hip harness created by ropespaced. Gigi also goes over some self-tying tips and tricks to make your self-tie adventures easier. Finally, we close out with a self-tie demonstration using the harnesses taught.
This class is a recording of the B.K.R.G. February virtual rope group. It is dedicated entirely to the TK (takate kote, gote, box tie). This class will be unique in that while a TK pattern will be taught for the tops, it will primarily be focused on bottoming for TKs. For tops: we will teach a modern 2-rope TK with an emphasis on placement, tension, and technique. For bottoms: we will be teaching multiple strategies for being tied in TKs, including communication, self-checks and basic nerve information for safety, and multiple modifications to make TKs doable, comfortable, and sustainable for everyone! This class is for tops and bottoms alike; both will get something valuable out of this.
Here, we have a collection of all of the tutorials and videos that we currently offer. We plan on making more in the near future.
